Xmas Delivery 2022

Updated 5th December

Shop early! Or choose to collect from our shop.

Quite a lot to take in this year, and a fast-moving situation, so please take a moment to read through the info below.

Members of the CWU at Royal Mail are currently due to be on strike on the following dates:

24, 25, 30 November | 1, 9, 11, 14, 15, 23, 24 December.

Deliveries will obviously be delayed. With the mixture of Christmas and industrial action, we're hearing post is currently taking up to eleven days to arrive. Sorry for the frustration but thanks for your patience.

With that in mind, our worst-case predictions for last posting dates for UK delivery by xmas - based on experience from previous strike periods and Royal Mail guidance to allow 10 working days from the expected date of delivery - are:

Standard Delivery - Monday 5th December

Special Delivery - Wednesday 21st December (please see below for further information)

Bear in mind that everything from processing your order to it being delivered is likely to take a little longer at this time of year anyway because, well, it's Christmas.

A reminder that items shown on the site are 'available' (more here) but this does not always mean they're currently in stock. The website isn't currently able to reflect 'live' stock levels on most items, and sometimes items will sell out or go out of stock with suppliers. Unfortunately that can often happen with vinyl, which is taking longer to re-press currently due to demand.
You can check whether or not an item's in stock by calling us: 020 8549 5871

We'll send automated confirmation / dispatch notifications and any updates for your order to the email address you provide, so please be sure that's correct and that emails from banquetrecords.com are not being treated as spam.

Below are Royal Mail's recommended last posting dates for delivery by 24th December - these dates are subject to change and may be impacted by strike action.

With the exception of UK Special Delivery, these services do not have a delivery guarantee, so we won't be able to tell you on what date your package is likely to arrive, but if dispatched by the dates shown below, the postal service aim to deliver by 24th December.

UK Delivery for dispatch of in-stock items - these dates may be impacted by strike action

Standard delivery (including Tracked with Signature): Friday 16th December

Royal Mail aim to deliver packages dispatched by 16th December, via standard delivery, no later than 24th December. For all services with the exception of Special Delivery, this is an aim and not a guarantee.

UK Special Delivery is the only service with a delivery guarantee.
Last posting date for Christmas delivery using this service is Wednesday 21st
December (delivery on 22nd December).

Special Delivery needs to be added to your cart before checkout. This service is tracked and guarantees delivery on the next working day after dispatch. Orders need to be received by 4pm latest and your item needs to be in stock.

Standard delivery packages are not tracked and do not require a signature (unless you add Tracked with Signature). However, if Royal Mail can't deliver due to the package not fitting through a letterbox and / or nobody being at the delivery address, your package may be held at your local delivery office. You should receive a red 'Something For You' card notifying you of this, but in our experience that doesn't always happen. If you've received a dispatch notification for your order and it hasn't been delivered within 3 working days, it's worth a check with your delivery office before you contact us.
