On the eve of the release of their new album English Tapas, Sleaford Mods make their long-awaited Kingston debut!
One of the most incisive bands of current times, their music is far from pigeonhole-able, mixing indie-rock, electronica, punk, hip-hop and angst-rock. At a time when too many bands are ignoring the political and socio-economic impacts of life in the 2010s, that's not an accusation that could be levelled at the duo. Subjects range from working life, unemployment and calling out idiotic celebrities to humorous observations of the frustrations of modern life. This band has never been more relevant, and we're looking forward to their first Kingston visit.
Jason Williamson discusses ‘English Tapas’: "Andrew walked into some random pub and saw "English Tapas" scrawled on the menu board. Underneath this beautiful coupling of words were it's components, half a scotch egg, cup of chips, pickle and a mini pork pie" It says everything about this fucking place. It's comedy, it’s make do, it's ignorant and above all, it's shit."
After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear the likes of Jamie T, Vant, Scroobius Pip, Parquet Courts and many more until 2AM.
Album + ticket combos are available from £9 or tickets can be bought separately HERE
