The Lagan Let's Do It Again Excellent local beer-soaked Celtic folk-punk band The Lagan return with a 5 track EP, following up their Banquet-released album. You know us, we're not really a studio band. We just like to get out and play. We had planned on writing a full album, but we had been kicking a few songs around for a few years so we thought we'd put them out and concentrate on writing an actual album. Maybe. So, here you go. Another snapshot of our live set. Banquet Records CD

Scholars Arts and Grafts Orange vinyl limited to 120 / frosted clear vinyl limited to 125. Second album from Scholars, the long-awaited follow-up to 2013's indie chart-topping Always Lead Never Follow, also released by Banquet. Produced by longtime collaborator Larry Hibbitt (Sundara Karma, Nothing But Thieves, Hundred Reasons) Arts and Grafts comes off the back of their trio of super limited handmade vinyl releases over the past few months. Combining a unique lyrical worldview with the best bits of new wave, punk and Britpop, it's at turns life-affirming and genuinely touching - and they've honed their knack for a massive chorus. For fans of At The Drive-in, XTC, Elastica, Tears For Fears. Banquet Records LP
Lemuria Get Better 10 Year Anniversary Edition Expected 28th July UK press is limited to 300 copies. A decade after we put this out on CD, we're proud to be doing the UK release for the 10 Year Anniversary Edition of Lemuria's Get Better - the release coincides with their UK anniversary shows. Black vinyl LP in a UK-exclusive-colour gatefold sleeve with spot silver print, which features an essay from the band's Alex Kerns, plus a 7" in its own full colour sleeve which includes two bonus tracks from the Get Better sessions, and a poster. A real classic of indie/pop-punk, this was one of our Albums Of The Year back when we originally released it in 2008. Like we said then If you're into anything like The Lemonheads, The Weakerthans, Discount or Jawbreaker then you're going to love this Buffalo-based trio. Intimate indie-pop-punk with lyrics about unrequited love, relationships and everything inbetween. Banquet Records 7" | LP
The Cut Ups The Nerves Noisey called The Cut Ups 'the flagbearers for British pop-punk' and we're chuffed to be releasing their fourth album The Nerves. They're lynchpins of Exeter's fertile punk scene, which in recent years has given us the likes of Muncie Girls, The Computers and Shit Present. Super-catchy punk rock with intelligent, thought-provoking lyrics based on personal experiences. For fans of Billy Bragg, Leatherface, The Bouncing Souls and great songwriting. We played our first gig on December 23rd, 2004, we’ve made 3 LPs and one split 7” so far - “Paris Street In Ruins” came out in 2006, “The High and Mighty” was released in 2009, as was the split with The Arteries, and “Building Bridges, Starting Here” appeared in 2012. We’ve recorded at Maida Vale for BBC Radio One, toured all over Europe and played shows with bands like No Use For A Name, Mad Caddies, Sidekicks, Lawrence Arms, Muncie Girls, MxPx, Only Crime, Great Cynics, Tall Ships, Bangers, Crazy Arm, Dillinger Four, Capdown, Gnarwolves, The Arteries, Frank Turner, King Blues, ONSIND, Smoke or Fire, The Steal, Latterman, Virgins, Caves, Male Bonding, The Computers, Strike Anywhere, Chuck Ragan, Hop Along, Flatliners, and we once spent a fortnight as Franz Nicolay’s backing band! Young Romance Another's Blood We're really happy that the long-awaited debut album from Young Romance is out on our Banquet label. They've supported the likes of Mystery Jets, Slow Club, Summer Camp, Peace and Joanna Gruesome in Kingston, and The Wedding Present and The Primitives elsewhere. If you're into any of those bands, there's something to love here. Mary Chain guitars collide beneath Claire's vocals recalling Kate Bush in her heyday. This is a band that don't just have the sound, they have the songs to match too - NME A towering blaze of weighty drums and smouldering, grunge-tinged guitar. – The Line Of Best Fit Banquet Records CD | LP
Waco Wrangler / Agitation Limited to 250 copies on translucent blue vinyl. We're putting out this 7" from London's Waco - first time on vinyl for two of the tracks from a limited edition tape-only release on Venn Records. Already given Radio One love by the likes of Dan Carter and Zane Lowe, they're no strangers to Kingston and have played for us supporting Single Mothers, Slaves and Bangers - we think they're pretty special. They mix punk rock with a dash of garage rock'n roll and alt.rock and with an style no-one else has. There's special something in this band for fans of Fidlar, Great Cynics, Art Brut, Slaves and Pure Love. we're putting out this Waco 7" cos they're fucking radA photo posted by Banquet Records (@banquetrecords) on Feb 10, 2016 at 5:24am PST Banquet Records 7"
Chas Palmer-Williams American Smile British Teeth We're chuffed to be releasing the long-awaited debut solo album from Lightyear singer / songwriter Chas Palmer-Williams on our own Banquet label. A proper lyrical genius, his solo songs are as insightful as they are funny. Recorded with a full band and added brass, strings and piano, contributors include Sam Duckworth (Get Cape Wear Cape Fly) and Matt Reynolds from Howards Alias. We think if you like the intelligent songwriting of The Weakerthans, the get-up-and-do-it feel of Frank Turner and the seeing-the-world-differently observations of Lightyear, you will absolutely love this. Like anyone who is creative knows; I’m not that in control of this. It just comes out. It has to come out. I can sit here all day staring at a page. And then write one line. Or I can manically scribble away and write something within ten minutes and think it’s the best song I have ever done. I think that I’m writing the best lyrics since Lightyear and my song writing is getting better all the time. full band Chas Palmer-Williams is radA photo posted by Banquet Records (@banquetrecords) on Nov 19, 2015 at 3:09pm PST Banquet Records CD

After their awesome Throw Me In The River LP last year, we're honoured to be the UK label for the new The Smith Street Band 7". Two non-album tracks, the 7" features I Scare Myself Sometimes - a collaboration with Lucy Wilson (of The Sugarcanes) and was recorded at the same time as Throw Me In The River "the track is a poetic narrative through the self-effacing mind of frontman Wil Wagner. The Smith Street Band is a special band, with a unique sound embracing the spirit of The Menzingers, Front Bottoms, Against Me! and The Weakerthans. we are the UK label for the new @thesmithstreetband 7". two non-album tracks, from a wonderful band. the records are in and shipping now, but we're only posting to UK addressesA photo posted by Banquet Records (@banquetrecords) on Aug 25, 2015 at 6:06am PDT Banquet Records 7"
