Battles Dross Glop #1 in stock now Battles proudly present the first in a series of highly anticipated remixes from their 2011 album Gloss Drop to be released on 12' vinyl with stunning re-works of the original album art. Remix duties were handed to some of this year's most in-demand producers - with the first 12" containing iconinc German label Kompakt's Gui Boratto and The Field - who start it off with dance-floor filling takes on the album's driving Math-rock anthems. Boratto supplies his signature Brazilian Techno style to "Wall Street", a jittery, harmonic jam - smoothed into a minimal epic. Sweden's The Field re-work Battles track "Sweetie & Shag" into a pulsating fit of blips and rumbles--Pitchfork recently said of his work, "If Willner doesn't hit at least some of your pleasure centers, well, forget your ears--your nerve endings might actually be dead." Squarepusher Be Up A Hello After a 5 year hiatus that has seen him delve into a range of diverse musical projects, Squarepusher will return with a long awaited album Be Up A Hello, out on the 31st of January. Fans can enjoy a taster as the double-A side 12” Vortrack will be released on the 6th of December, featuring Squarepusher's Fracture Remix which already caused a stir when it was dropped into his brain-melting breakbeat and jungle set for Warp's 30th anniversary NTS takeover in June. With this new album, Tom Jenkinson (Squarepusher) has returned to using a bewildering array of vintage analogue and digital hardware, the same equipment that first helped him develop his sound in the early '90s. Something of a 180 degree turn, these synths, effects units and even a Commodore Vic20 are in complete contrast to the tools he used to create 2015’s Damogen Furies - cutting edge software that Tom developed over the course of 15 years. The result is Be Up A Hello, an album that is celebratory with rinsing breakbeat tracks such as Nervelevers and Terminal Slam - classic floor fillers - as well pieces loaded with visceral atmosphere and melody in Squarepusher’s inimitable style. Darker moments such as Vortrack and Mekrev Bass illustrate Tom's continuing fascination with finely balanced psychological overload. As such, Be Up A Hello gives a nod to the mayhem, joyousness and abandon of the DIY Essex rave scene that was a strong determinant in Tom's work. Warp Records CD | LP
Aphex Twin Richard D. James Richard D. James aka Aphex Twin's 1996 album reissue. Perhaps inspired by the experimental drum'n'bass being created by Squarepusher (a recent signee to his Rephlex label), Richard D. James' third major-label album as Aphex Twin was his first to work with jungle -- though, to his credit, he had released the breakbeat EP Hangable Auto Bulb almost a year earlier. Contemporaries Orbital and Underworld were beginning to incorporate moderate use of drum'n'bass in their work as well, but this album was more extreme than virtually all jungle being made at the time. The beats are jackhammer quick and even more jarring considering what is -- for the most part -- laid over the top: the same fragile, slow-moving melodies that characterized Aphex Twin's earlier ambient works. With all the Aphex Twin's curious idiosyncracies, though, Richard D. James Album is a very listenable record and a worthy follow-up to I Care Because You Do. Warp Records LP

Children Of Alice Children Of Alice Debut album from electronic soundscape outfit, Children Of Alice. It's the first full length post-Broadcast release from founding members James Cargill and Roj Stevens, working alongside Ghostbox Records co-founder and graphic designer Julian House. Children of Alice have been quietly producing amorphous and intoxicating soundscapes as part of the Folklore Tapes collective for a number of years now, beginning in 2013 with Harbinger of Spring on the shared Ornithology release. This poetic conjuration of rebirth and new growth was the first unfurling of post-Broadcast creation from James Cargill, one half of the personal and artistic relationship at the heart of that epochal and increasingly feted band.
