Rock Spirit Absolute Joy
Consistently pushing the boundaries of punk as genre, Rock Spirit Absolute Joy sees WACO taking their “nothing is off the table” approach to genre experimentation from previous album Hope Rituals to another galaxy.“We channelled all the things that we love about each other and love about rock music in this album,” explains frontman Jak Hutchcraft. “The album title, Rock Spirit Absolute Joy, is a good indicator of where our heads were at. We got the title from one of our fans, Mary, who had written those four words in the comments section of one of our music videos. It hit us like a ton of bricks. She’d bookended the phrase with lightning bolt emojis and it resonated with us in ways that I don’t think she anticipated. With that in mind, we then wrote these ten songs to celebrate life, communicate our emotions and be true to those four words and everything they meant.”“Ultimately though, we wrote this album to further commemorate our beloved late bassist Chris Cowley and process our grief. He was all about rock, spirit and absolute joy. Chris, if you’re reading this, I hope we did you proud.”Over the past 24 months the band continually defied the pandemic’s pitfalls and rounded out 2021 on a bumper string of live dates with Wife Swap USA, The Wildhearts, Snake Eyes and more. Winning over fans at any festival or support slot thanks to their diverse sound, WACO are time and time again proving just what a dedicated, indomitable, and hardworking force for good they are on the UK punk circuit.

Meryl Streek
Stories They Dont Teach You At School
''Dinked Edition' is on 'clear w/ red splatter' coloured vinyl. Packaged in alternative artwork and includes a signed A5 print. Numbered /750. For avoidance of doubt, the centre is a standard spindle size, and not dinked.Much like a teacher, Meryl Streek imparts his knowledge and lived experiences to all who are willing to listen. His third album, ‘Stories They Don’t Teach You At School’, serves as an alternative form of education, delivered through a visceral blend of factual soundbites and raw emotion, loops and samples, guitars and bass. The lyrics resonate with core values of compassion, resilience, and community—themes rarely explored within a classroom setting or seen in today's fragmented society. By prioritising conviction over commercial success, the Dublin artist's outspokenness may invite controversy. Yet beneath the fervor lies a profound desire for positive social change at home in Ireland, and beyond.Meryl Streek returned to Darkland Studios in Dublin to fine-tune the recordings previously made in a shed at the back of his ma's garden. Here he continued the genre-blurring nature of his earlier work, enticing listeners toward dissonant landscapes and hypnotic rhythms. Gentle piano tones collide with abrasive synths, creating a striking tension between beauty and noise. Streek tempers his rage when appropriate, integrating atmospheric textures and pop sensibilities into his ever-expanding sonic collage. As is tradition with any Meryl Streek record, ‘Stories They Don’t Teach You At School’ unearths many uncomfortable truths. ‘Rotten Fruit’ examines media manipulation and the numbing proliferation of misinformation, all soundtracked by synth-punk. With gliding keys and a crunchy bassline, ‘Council Estates’ critiques systemic government failures affecting the working class. ‘Kelly’ is a slice of electronica that details an ongoing criminal investigation, currently classified as a “Contested Cause of Death”. The indie pop of 'The Chancer' brings much-needed attention to landlord politicians. As the album progresses, the mission remains absolute: to provide a voice for the voiceless. To amplify these narratives, Meryl Streek handpicked a diverse group of collaborators for the project. ‘Rotten Fruit’ features Steve Ignorant of anarcho-punk collective CRASS. ‘Depression’ opens with a touching recording of the late Liam Norton, close friend and former touring companion, while Pete Holidai of The Radiators From Space contributes guitars on the song. Comedian Phill Jupitus provides the spoken outro for ‘The Chancer'. ‘Housing For All’ incorporates audio from Derelict Ireland campaigners Frank O’Connor and Jude Sherry. Venn Records owner and Gallows guitarist Laurent ‘Lags’ Barnard joins forces with Adebisi Shank bassist Vinny McCreith on the aggressive ‘Bullet,’ while Sophie Porter of Other Half provides bass guitar for ‘Life is Not a Rehearsal’. The album concludes with a three-minute spoken word piece by Frankie McNamara, the viral creator behind ‘Meditations for the Anxious Mind’.In her 1990 protest anthem “Black Boys on Mopeds,” the late Sinead O’Connor warned, “To say what you feel is to dig your own grave”. With this release, Meryl Streek firmly holds the shovel.

Opal Mag
Goodbye Lavender
"Quietly becoming one of the most resonant new voices in alt-pop" DORK"The magic lies in the tension between soft, breathy vocals and the dense undercurrent of fuzzed guitars" So Young'Goodbye Lavender' is the second EP from Brighton based artist Opal Mag. Recorded over several days at Bam Bam Studios in Norfolk with producer Harry Jordan (The Big Moon, Sam Thomkins, Keo), the resulting six songs blend hazy, atmospheric soundscapes with confessional, unfiltered lyricism. With influences including Mazzy Star, The Sundays, The Breeders, and The Smashing Pumpkins, it's no wonder Stereogum considers Opal Mag "a promising new voice of the '90s indie rock revival". Writing for the dreamers and the bedroom dwellers, her songs feel like secrets whispered late at night; raw, intimate, and achingly real.

Night Letters
Witness To The Love
It's hard to believe that the eerie instrumentation and atmospheric undertones of Night Letters grew out of the DIY punk scene. Vocalist Tony 'TK' Klein (More Than Life) and guitarist Kai Sheldon (Landscapes) have been friends since school, both hailing from the same small town in South West England. Tours in mainland Europe with UKHC heavyweights Dead Swans brought Benny Mead into the picture and all three bonded over drums as TK, then drummer for More Than Life, fondly recalls 'I was blown away with Benny's drumming and he inspired me to be a better musician'. As with so many touring experiences, friendships formed that would last a lifetime.
In 2012 TK found himself living and working in Berlin, another local resident just so happened to be Adam Crowe from Australian hardcore crew Miles Away. 'We started hanging out and talking about our experiences playing in bands and after a quiet period with More Than Life I approached Adam and asked him if he was interested in starting a new project. He was up for it and we recorded ‘Reflect the Sky' in Berlin". To begin with, Night Letters was just a two-piece studio project but after Germany's Day By Day Records agreed to release the EP it quickly became clear that the music had no ceiling and the demand for live shows brought Benny and Kai back into the fold.
In 2018, now a four-piece, Night Letters entered British studio the Ranch to record their debut album with producer Lewis Johns (Funeral For A Friend, Rolo Tomassi). TK is aware of the band's roots and how important the punk rock scene was to them, 'We're still and always will be hardcore kids but we felt like we needed something that represented us now as adults. We took a lot of elements from hardcore, the build-up parts, the explosive energy in the guitars, the dynamic drums and brutally honest lyrics. I'm still angry but It's a different type of anger now. I'm not angry at the world so much, but I am still trying to find a connection. Trying to find out what makes us who we are, exploring our mental environments, and adapting to the changes life throws at us'.
'Witness to the Love' is a hardcore record at heart - honest, raw and passionate. But it's also far more than that. Night Letters blend elements of shoegaze, indie and dream pop to create a sonic wall of sound that leaves the listener bathing in alt-rock ecstasy.
