Slotface
New Slang, 9:00pm
POSTPONED
The band is stuck in Norway due to industrial action by their airline. We're hoping to reschedule for later in the year. Refunds available from point of purchase.
The night before their debut album is released Slotface play at New Slang.
The band play a fantastic blend of energetic and addictive indie-punk with great pop sensibilities, big hooks and quality lyrics. This is their first Kingston visit and we're excited to have them down here. If you're into Joyce Manor, Los Campesinos! or Muncie Girls, this is where you need to be.
'Try Not To Freak Out' is nothing short of a massive rock record - one that weds the pop nous of Robyn and Blondie to the exuberant, freewheeling attack of bands like Joyce Manor and Little Big League.
"The band is taking the country by storm with irresistible pop punk hooks and a rumbling post-punk flavored bass line." - The Huffington Post
"Fearless, feminist and so much fun, every song is a revolution in three minutes or less." - NME
After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear the likes of Catfish & The Bottlemen, Circa Waves, Courteeners, The Shins and many more until 2AM.
Times TBC, but we expect doors to be at 9:00pm with Slotface on stage at 10:30pm, please check back.

Thursday 12th March at New Slang, 9:00pm (18+)
Update 10th March, 10:00am - any "posted" tickets ordered from this point are for collection at the venue. Please bring your order number with you. The night before their new record is released, Circa Waves play in Kingston. The New Slang regulars return again in celebration of their fourth full length album titled Sad Happy, following on from 2019's What's It Like Over There. Expect another excellent offering of their dynamic and anthemic indie-rock driven tunes. An album of our times, ‘Sad Happy’ is formed of two diametrically distinctive sides – the first half of the record contains the Happy tracks, the latter the Sad tracks. Lead single ‘Jacqueline’ is unveiled today as the first taste of ‘Sad Happy’. Listen here. An infectious, Soweto flavoured groove, ‘Jacqueline’ is another bold slice of bright, life-affirming pop from the pen of Kieran Shudall, who is establishing himself as one of Britain’s most prolific young songwriters. With it’s infectious chorus and refrain of ‘Good times are coming around the bend’, Jacqueline is at once instantly recognisable and also another bold sonic leap forward for Circa Waves. It’s a song that’ll sit effortlessly amongst a setlist already brimming with anthems. Times TBC but we expect doors at 9:00pm with Circa Waves on stage at 10:30pm After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear the likes of The Cribs, Catfish & The Bottlemen, The 1975, Wolf Alice and many more until 2AM. CD/ticket is £16 post-paid, and other formats and combos are available. Albums and tickets will be posted separately, the album is released 13th March. If you select Collect In-store, both album and tickets will have to be picked up from the shop but you can't get the album before the release date. New Slang is an over 18s event, and is strict on ID. Please bring photo ID with you on the night, whatever age you are. New Slang is held at Pryzm, 154 Clarence St, Kingston upon Thames KT1 1QP

King Krule
Thursday 20th February at New Slang, 9:00pm
The night before his new album is released, King Krule returns to Kingston to play at New Slang.
The long-awaited third full length album from the excellent sludge-popper is titled Man Alive! and follows on from his 2017 record The OOZ with another dose of his bleak, jazzy indie-psychedelia tunes.
“I feel better in life. I don’t drink or smoke when I’m in the North West, so I’m pretty clean. It's made me kind of bored of what a lot of the album’s talking about! It’s hard to know where it’s going now I’ve done it, and what I’ll do next, because of my new-found role and responsibility in the world. It'll be good to play live, I'm looking forward to that.
Times TBC but we expect doors at 9:00pm with King Krule on stage at 10:30pm
After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear the likes of Tame Impala, FOALS, Methyl Ethel, Wolf Alice, The 1975, Vampire Weekend and many more until 2AM.

The fifth full length album from the all-time great indie-quartet is titled Everything Else Has Gone Wrong and marks their first set of new music since returning from hiatus. We're super excited their back and this will be such a special moment.
“This is an album for anyone who’s ever turned to music in a time of need. It’s about the solace one can get from listening to music or playing music. For me personally it's about the frustration of not being able to express myself to others, of leaving conversations feeling dissatisfied and misunderstood. Music’s the way I’m able to truly express myself”.
