RAT BOY
SUBURBIA CALLING
RAT BOY have recorded in Los Angeles with Tim Armstrong of Rancid, played festivals as far afield as Japan and China, and toured North America with The Interrupters.Yet for all those globe-trotting adventures, there's no place you know quite as well as home. That's the central topic that RAT BOY explore on their upcoming third album 'SUBURBIA CALLING', which will be released on October 4th via Hellcat.'SUBURBIA CALLING' sees RAT BOY exploring stories from their roots in Essex. It's the land of wheeler-dealers and dodgy geezers, and home to nosey neighbours, rowdy clubs and Joey Essex. It's not only an immense font of inspiration for RAT BOY, but the place where everything happens for them.. Just outside of Chelmsford sits a converted barn where the band can jump in and be creative whenever the mood takes them - a HQ that is a recording studio, a rehearsal space, an art studio, a storage space and a hangout spot all-in-one.

The Interrupters
In The Wild
Water damaged records were shrinkwrapped as of last week, but have been unsealed for inspection. Vinyl is unplayed but some of the inner packaging may be slightly damaged by damp in the air of the (now vacated) storage rooms.Indies exclusive LP is on 'white' coloured vinyl. We're the only retailer in the UK with the 'aqua blue' coloured vinyl. The new full length album from the incredible ska-punks The Interrupters! This 14-track opus is the real deal; it's a story of survival, a story of resilience, by a band being bold and rejecting the easy impulses of simply repeating what's worked before. Together during lockdown, Aimee Interrupter, partner and guitarist Kevin Bivona, and his younger twin brothers, Jesse (drums) and Justin (bass), decided to put idle hands to work. After building a home studio in their garage together, Kevin stepped up and took charge of production duties to become "the accountable one" this time around. The record took shape in an unforced and organic fashion, and the recording process was evidently a fun one, which is reflected in the sound of the album, gliding across a spectrum of breathless punk rock, doo-wop, gospel, dancehall, and the band's customary nods to the lineage of two-tone. It's further evidenced in the uplifting spirit and the glittering rollcall of guests (Tim Armstrong, Rhoda Dakar, Hepcat, The Skints) involved too. Thanks to the cocoon of the intimate environment they'd built and relaxed working practices, the results made for the most personal Interrupters album to date, as well as being the one all four feel most connected to.

Rancid
Let's Go
Indies exclusive LP is on 'milky clear' coloured vinyl. Vinyl reissue of the second full length album from the legendary punk rockers Rancid, originally released in 1994.Rancid's second LP, released in 1994, is disarmingly good from start to finish. With roots set firmly in their Berkeley punk rock origins, on Let's Go Rancid set out with heart, soul and vehemence to reach new heights in their music. Some of the highlights are "Salvation," "Radio," and "Nihilism," but all the of the songs bristle with the unmatched signature of Tim Armstrong's intensely evocative writing style. Recorded in their hometown of Berkeley CA, at legendary Fantasy Studios and mixed in Los Angeles at Westbeach Recorders, Let's Go foreshadows the ground breaking success that would be found on their next record, And Out Come the Wolves.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
When God Was Great
Ska-punk pioneers The Mighty Mighty BossToneS will release their 11th studio record When God Was Great on May 7 via Hellcat Records.
Co-produced by longtime collaborator Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys) and Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong (Transplants, Jimmy Cliff), When God Was Great is the culmination of their extensive and all-embracing career and sees the band bringing back friends, tourmates, and bandmates from the past for a sonic celebration that stresses the power of perseverance and human connection during tumultuous times. The album features 15-tracks that initially arose out of a collective sense of loss.
“We were lightly writing songs before the insanity without any sort of timeline in mind. All of a sudden, the world changed and benchmark events in a very long career that we were looking forward to, such as playing with the Madness at the Greek Theatre, were taken away from us,” explains frontman Dicky Barrett. “With all of this time on our hands, we started writing at a quickened pace and we were really inspired. As grim as everything around us was in the outside world, this was the most fun we ever had making a record.”
