Django Django Winter's Beach The 6 track EP from Kingston visitors Django Django, pulsating and infectious dance-indie-rock with plenty of electronics, following on from Marble Skies that was released at the start of the year. Commencing with the mood-setting instrumental opening title track, the ‘Winter’s Beach’ EP sparkles with the creative energy of a band who are fully embracing their artist freedom. It’s followed by ‘Sand Dunes’, which reiterates the band’s unique ability to set post-apocalyptic imagery and themes of rebirth to beautifully futuristic sounds. Elsewhere, ‘Flash Forward’ pulsates with an ominous and rapid-fire dancefloor energy; ‘Ghost Rider’ takes flight with some otherworldly psychedelic grooves; and ‘Blue Hazy Highs’ sounds like today’s Django Django time-travelling back to the Summer of Love. Cerrone Afro II “It is no coincidence that my first band ‘Kongas’ is very influenced by what we know as afro music. This music has always had an important place in my musical life, especially as a drummer. I am extremely fond of the rhythms and melodies of this musical spectrum since my early days as a producer, and they have been very influential in my own music. The disco colors haven’t always allowed me to express myself in this domain and that’s why with my ‘Afro’ series of EPs I decided to create something with total freedom, so that I could give life to the music that thrills me so much.” - MARC CERRONE Because Music LP
