Bjork / Fever Ray / The Knife Country Creatures The Knife and Fever Ray bring their signature styles to Björk’s ‘Features Creatures’ in two intense remixes released today. Fever Ray’s moody and ethereal rework contrasts against The Knife’s vigorous and pulsating take as each remix offers a unique perspective on Bjork’s original track. As part of a creative exchange, Björk has also remixed a track by Fever Ray. The collective Country Creatures EP will be pressed as a limited edition vinyl. Caroline 12"
Yeule Serotonin II yeule is the manifested reflection of Nat ?miel. An ongoing project since 2012, yeule’s music is as ethereal as it dynamic, reflective of her nomadic upbringing. Though she grew up and attended school in Singapore for most of her life, her family traveled often, developing emotional connections with places far from home that left her searching, unmoored, putting forth a creation that is in constant metamorphosis. FKA Twigs Magdelene We've got 1 signed 12"x12" print to give away with the LP. Indies exclusive is on red vinyl. The highly anticipated second full length album from FKA Twigs, following on from the critically acclaimed, BRIT + Mercury prize nominated LP1. Created in a period where her confidence was knocked following heartbreak and laparoscopic surgery, MAGDALENE is the sound of twigs reconfiguring, emotionally and physically. As she sings on ‘Mary Magdalene’, the MAGDALENE album track that opened her highly-praised, sold-out live shows earlier in the year, “A woman’s time / A woman’s work / A woman’s time to embrace / She must put herself first”. MAGDALENE is produced by FKA twigs and, as with LP1, the recording process has been directed by her at every stage. It was recorded between London, New York and Los Angeles over the last three years and features major contributions from Nicolas Jaar alongside a host of other collaborators. MAGDALENE sees FKA twigs creating a whole new artistic universe and it is, without doubt, her most masterful, innovative work to date. Young Turks CD | LP
Soundwalk Collective / Patti Smith Mummer Love A sonic cross-continental experience, Mummer Love is the second album in the Perfect Vision triptych collaboration between Soundwalk Collective and Patti Smith. For this body of work, Soundwalk Collective journeyed to Africa to explore the intricacies of Arthur Rimbaud’s most obscure period. After leaving France and what he deemed the western stagnation’, Rimbaud found himself in Harar, Ethiopia – an epicenter of Sufism in Africa. Sufi practise focuses on the renunciation of worldly things, the purification of the soul and the mystical contemplation of God’s nature. A strand within the wider Islam religion, it focuses on spirituality, meditation and chanting sessions. Sufi music is about reaching a communal ecstatic state, and once you find yourself there, you are granted access to the unknown. Stephan Crasneanscki from Soundwalk Collective spent time with the Sufi masters in Harar to record their music and chants in the shrine, of which he says: “You obtain connections to other levels of yourself and consciousness. This connection, like poetry, is a universal language. A language of the soul, for the soul.” Bella Union CD | LP Pre-Order
The Horrors V Remixed A new remix album from The Horrors, taking tracks from their 2017 album V and having a range of guests warp and slice their neo-psychedelic post-punk tunes into new forms. A love of dance music has been omnipresent in the world of The Horrors. It has been a constant influence, helping to inform and shape our creative development over the years. We now find ourselves in an era surrounded by supreme electronic talent, with friends such as HAAI, Cleric, Manni Dee and Giant Swan inspiring dancers the world over. It felt only natural that we unleash them on V, fully encouraging these sonic warriors to deconstruct the tracks beyond recognition and bring a new context to our music. The result is a carefully curated collection of visceral techno and confrontational rhythm; a speculative window into the band’s forthcoming material. Wolf Tone LP
65daysofstatic replicr, 2019 Indies exclusive LP is on 180g white vinyl. Regular LP is on 180g black vinyl. Both LPs include a booklet. The hugely anticiapted new album from the Sheffield-based post-rock ./ experimental stalwarts 65daysofstatic, bringing another offfering of their highly expansive, sonic landscapes. This will mark their first studio album since 2013's Wild Light or the 2016 soundtrack to No Man's Sky: Music For An Infinite Universe. From the eventual smouldering wreckage of their broken software systems and entropic algorithms, the band realised their next record needed to be the opposite. An album born from the debris, but stripped down to its most focussed, intentional form. replicr, 2019 is the album carved from the wreckage. Forty two minutes of dread. A record that stares head on into the abyssal futures of late capitalism and refuses to blink. A melancholic, tireless soundtrack of acceleration. A feeling of frayed-nerved, time smudged, light-speed drifting through cities built upon cities. Neon seen through rain riddled windowpanes. replicr, 2019 is a stark, angular, stripped back slab of focussed noise. It wastes no time because there is no time left to waste. Superball Music CD | LP
M83 DSVII Double LP is on 180g 'galaxy/candy floss' pink coloured vinyl. M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez released Digital Shades Vol. 1 in 2007 as a compendium of unused ambient tracks for diehard fans to enjoy rather than letting these works disappear into the void. It was a way to breathe life into songs that normally would not see the light of day as well as a vehicle for Gonzalez to explore areas of musical creativity separated from the pop-leaning M83 studio albums. Gonzalez credits Brian Eno’s ambient collections as a pri- mary inspiration for the creation of the Digital Shades series. Now, more than a decade later, M83 has returned with the latest installment o Digital Shades - one that adopts a grander nature and seeks to transport listen-ers to another time and place entirely. DSVII is influenced heavily by early video game soundtracks, ‘80s sci-fi/fantasy films and analog synth pioneers such as the aforementioned Brian Eno in addition to Suzanne Ciani, Mort Garson and John Carpenter. Beak> Life Goes On EP In support of their largely sold-out European tour & string of Summer festival dates, BEAK> return with brand new music in the form of brand new EP ‘Life Goes On’ The four-track EP features the recently released title track which was inspired directly from a recent trip to Mexico City when the band awoke to the sound of a distorted young girls' voice bellowing across the city. Shards Find Sound Find Sound is the debut record from Shards, a London based vocal group led by singer, composer and producer Kieran Brunt. Combining voices, synths and percussion, Find Sound is an astonishing exploration of the human voice; using the concepts of sound and light as simple metaphors for gaining understanding. The album’s pieces are intended to be miniature sonic paintings, with each adding to an overall picture of the emotional confusion of early adulthood: the uncertainty, the excitement, the terror and relief.
