The Who
Friday 14th February at Pryzm
To celebrate the release of ‘WHO’ – The Who’s ‘best album since 1975….’ The Who announce they will play their smallest live show in over 40 years! The date is set to mark 50 years to the day of their historic Live at Leeds show – 14 Feb 2020. This is a never to be repeated intimate acoustic show.
"This album is almost all new songs written last year, with just two exceptions... There is no theme, no concept, no story, just a set of songs that I (and my brother Simon) wrote to give Roger Daltrey some inspiration, challenges and scope for his newly revived singing voice... Roger and I are both old men now, by any measure, so I’ve tried to stay away from romance, but also from nostalgia if I can. I didn’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Memories are okay, and some of the songs refer to the explosive state of things today." - Pete Townshend

Twin Atlantic
Thursday 23rd January at New Slang, 9:00pm (18+)
The night before their new album is released, Twin Atlantic return to New Slang.
The new full length album from the awesome Scottish alt-rockers follows on from 2016's critically acclaimed GLA. Lead single Novocaine shows that they've experimented with some more electronic-based sounds, we're super excited to hear this in full and witness their powerful and anthemic rock songs live again.
"The album is inspired by colours, moods, memories. We just got into a room and started creating. The studio as its own instrument reached a new level - we created nothing outside those walls and it became a physical embodiment of the album itself. Power is our own example that there's always a way forward when you are faced with limitations and red lights. It's reignited our ambition and drive for what we can achieve. Hearing these songs, that's what I feel and hear: power."
"And that's what the last two years have made us feel as a band: totally empowered."
Times TBC but we expect doors at 9:00pm with Twin Atlantic on stage at 10:30pm
After the show, the New Noise DJs will be taking over for a bit where you can expect to hear the likes of Enter Shikari, Deaf Havana, Lower Than Atlantis, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco, Jimmy Eat World, You me At Six and much more. Then we'll transition into usual sounds of New Slang where you can expect to hear the likes of The Cribs, Catfish & The Bottlemen, The 1975, Wolf Alice and many more until 2AM.
CD/ticket is £17 post-paid, and other formats and combos are available. Albums and tickets will be posted separately, the album is released 24th January. If you select Collect In-store, both album and tickets will have to be picked up from the shop but you can't get the album before the release date.
New Slang is an over 18s event, and is strict on ID. Please bring photo ID with you on the night, whatever age you are.
