Foals
Thursday 7th November at New Slang, 9:00pm (18+)
Tickets from this point are for collection at the venue on the night. Any albums will be posted. With their second album of 2019 out now, FOALS make another visit to Kingston to play at New Slang. Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2 follows on from Part 1, where they played the album in full at Pryzm and New Slang for us back in June and it was incredible. Part 2 takes on a much heavier sound in comparison to the dancey vibes in Part 1, we're massive fans of this cinematic two-part release and we can't wait to have them back. “Part two is a heavier listen, the guitars are more emphasised and there’s some big riffs on it,” explained Philippakis in an interview with NME. “It’s a rock record and it definitely carries on the narrative from part one. Part one ended with a lot of fire and destructive imagery, part two is trying to respond to that: how you can continue in the wreckage and through the scorched earth? We’re just excited for people to hear it because it completes the journey of what we’ve made over the last year-and-a-half.” Times TBC but we expect doors to be at 9:00pm with FOALS on at 10:30pm. After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear songs from the likes of The Vaccines, The Cribs, Wolf Alice, Circa Waves, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Everything Everything, The Maccabees, Sundara Karma and many more until 2AM. CD/ticket is £15 post-paid, and other formats and combos will be available. New Slang is an over 18s event, and is strict on ID. Please bring photo ID with you on the night, whatever age you are. New Slang is held at Pryzm, 154 Clarence St, Kingston upon Thames KT1 1QP Albums and tickets will be posted together unless you select 'Collect in Shop', if you chose to collect in shop then your full order, including tickets must be collected from the shop and not the venue. To combat touts, customers will be required to give their name when purchasing tickets and will be required to produce photo ID matching that name for entry to the gig. Tickets are not transferable. The name of the lead booker will be on all tickets. Where more than one ticket has been purchased, all guests in the party must enter the venue together. To gain entry to the show, the lead booker must bring the tickets along with valid photo ID matching the name on the tickets.

Jack Penate
Thursday 28th November at New Slang, 9:00pm (18+)
Celebrating the release of his long-awaited new album, Jack Peñate plays at New Slang.
The long awaited third full length album from the awesome singer-songwriter will mark his first set of new music since 2009's Everything Is New and sees him return to New Slang 10 years after his last visit.
The album doesn’t just draw on his musical journey of the past ten years, it brings in influences from the music he heard as a child. Loaded Gun has a prechorus that Lennon and McCartney would have liked to have written. As a child his brother would play him Jungle music. There’s elements of that too. His dad ran acid house raves – that’s in there. But perhaps, the most poignant track is Gemini. With nothing more than piano, vibraphone and drum beat, the words of Peñate’s grandfather, the writer and artist Mervyn Peake, are read by his uncle Fabian. And it’s not the only family tie. The artwork for the album, and the first video, has been done by Peñate’s cousin, the acclaimed artist, Eddie Peake. “We both grew up with an uncanny focus on what we wanted to do, but had never worked together,” says Jack. His work is both incredibly joyous and melancholy, and it does something to me that music does to me too.”
Times TBC but we expect doors at 9:00pm with Jack Peñate on stage at 10:30pm
After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear the likes of The Cribs, Liam Gallagher, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Courteeners, Maximo Park and many more until 2AM.
CD/ticket is £12 post-paid, and other formats and combos are available.
