Global Communication
76:14
Double LP on 180g black vinyl. English electronic part-time music duo Global Communication released their second album 76:14 in 1994, one of the most famous and widely-loved albums in ambient techno. The title of the album corresponds to the record’s total running time in minutes and seconds, just like the songs are named after its length. This is an immense journey into early ‘90s ambient with a doze of techno. The music the duo creates takes you to another world, full of calm, relaxing and atmospheric rhythms and melodies. True to their “Global Communication” moniker, Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard crafted an album that speaks to everyone.

Adam Prescott / Deemus J
I Want You To Be Mine / Questions
‘I Want You To Be Mine’ has all the hallmarks of classic 1960’s Rocksteady, an era which many refer too as the Golden Age of Jamaican music. Over the top of a live one-drop beat, cool & deadly sax and warm analog guitar & bass Deemas J rides the riddim in a ‘old time style & fashion’ whilst Rachel Wallace provides the perfect accompaniment with her gorgeous vocal. On the B-Side we have the deeper cut ‘Questions’, where Deemas delivers a poignant poem over Adam Prescott’s moody instrumental in the style of Linton Kwesi Johnson. Featuring live instrumentation from Harry ‘Papa B’ Bradford (Sax), Clifford Junior (Guitar) & Guillaume Metenier (Hammond Organ).

Soopasoul / The Jimmy Castor Bunch
It's Just Begun
Soopasoul is most definitely a name synonymous with the UK funk 45s scene and this sought after cover of the Jimmy Castor classic – It's Just Begun is one of many records that have cement his place at the top. A record that has long been a turntablists secret weapon is given the Soopasoul treatment here with Danny dropping the drum science as well as playing the bass and his crack team of players trumpeting some serious brass action, injecting some fresh funk into this respectful cover of a classic record. This record preceded his hotly anticipated debut album 'Twin Stix' and has long remained in the bags of the DJs in the know!
