There's a few variations of this product out there on the market, but these are by far the best and most realistic ones we've seen. Pretty neat!

Gil Scott-Heron The Last Holiday: A Memoir The remarkable memoirs of Gil Scott-Heron who sadly passed away earlier in 2011... Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream. And Stevie Wonder had a dream. This is a book about dreams.' In the autumn of 1980, Stevie Wonder invited Gil Scott-Heron to join him on a forty-one-city tour across America, ending in Washing ton in January 1981, to gather popular support for the creation of a holiday in honour of the great civil-rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr. Scott-Heron uses this history-making tour as the backbone of his fascinating memoir. Raised by his grandmother in Jackson, Tennessee, Scott-Heron's journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of the most uncompromising and influential musicians and songwriters of his generation is a remarkable one. Politically savvy and savagely satirical, socially conscious and tender-hearted, Gil Scott-Heron has been called the godfather of rap, and his unexpected death in May 2011 marked the loss of one of the world's most vocal and articulate artists. Chuck D of Public Enemy said of Scott-Heron, 'we do what we do and who we do because of you' and Eminem added, 'Scott-Heron influenced all of hip-hop'. And as Sarah Silverman said, "he mirrored ugliness with beauty, audacity, and valour'. A compelling testament to Gil Scott-Heron's career and achievements, The Last Holiday is also highly personal account of his growing up in the South and a touching portrait of Stevie Wonder, and it is full of Scott-Heron's keen insights into the music industry, the civil rights movement, modern America, governmental hypocrisy and our wider place in the world. Gilles Peterson / Various Artists Horo - A Jazz Porttrait Horo - A Jazz Portrait is put together by Gilles Peterson and released on Dejavu records! Gilles Peterson says: 'My first taste of Horo was a Steve Grossman album called "Moonwalk", I found it in a back street in Firenze on my first DJ trip to Italy back in 1987. The logo seduced me and before long I'd gotten hold of the Kenny Clarke too. Over time I managed to gather a sizeable collection from this Saba of the south. Then when I came upon one of Sun Ra's doubles my search for the name on each sleeve increased... Also Sinesio... who WAS this person? The time arrived in 2008, spring in Rome and a trip to the country with a surprise from my friend Paolo Scotti... a farmhouse and a Sunday lunch date. We devoured what can only be described as a veritable feast and I listened to the stories and thoughts of a most spectacular mind... it is rare when you meet and witness a philosophy like Aldo's and it inspired me to continue on my own personal path of self discovery and jazz. Desert was in the outhouse where a goldmine of vinyl awaited me - rows of Irio De Paula's, roomfuls of Gianni Basso's and a full store of mint Freddie Hubbard's... My favorite bits can be found on this CD'. Dejavu Out of Stock
