If you're a fan of Boston Manor, The Wonder Years, Knuckle Puck or (late-era) Funeral For A Friend then give this a listen. "In terms of the last album, the way that I write is very introspective. I enjoy being very heavily self-reflective on the things that are happening around me and the interactions and relationships that I have with people. I enjoy putting a microscope on them and trying to figure them out. It tends to come out in song pretty well and makes for a very engaging and emotional performance as well as great songs. They're back with their highly anticipated second full length album titled Crown Shyness, following on from their class 2016 soupy-produced debut Nothing I Write You.... this offering gives more of their punishing and aggressive blend of emotive, angst led pop-punk, that's heading into heavier and more post-hardcore sounding territory. If you're a fan of Boston Manor, The Wonder Years or Knuckle Puck then give this a listen. They've played in Kingston a couple of times and it'll be great to have them back here in the shop. Proper ska-punk legends and mainstays in the scene for a quarter of a century, they've defined ska-punk for many and have such a catalogue of greatness, you always come back for more. Support comes from St. Albans pop-punk 5-piece Trash Boat who played in town early last year with Knuckle Puck, (Seattle's Success unfortunately are no longer able to make this tour), London garage-rock trio Kenneths and opening up is Maryland four-piece heavy rockers Lionize Stage times: Less Than Jake 9:15 - 10:30 Trash Boat 8:15 - 08:45 Kenneths 7:30 - 8:00 Lionize 6:45 - 7:15 On 29th April Less Than Jake will be releasing Live From Astoria on LP and CD.
