Following the release of their new album, Spanish Love Songs visit the shop for a lunch time set.
Their second full length album, titled Brave Faces Everyone, follows on from their triumphant 2017 debut Schmaltz, seeing them offer up another dose of their anthemic indie-punk mixed with some heartstring-tugging emo influences. Fans of The Menzingers, Tigers Jaw and The Hotelier should be checking this band out.
"This album is us honing in on what we think makes our band resonate with people — namely, the feeling that you're not alone. These are songs about looking outward and finding that, for all our differences, most of us are just trying to get by as the world is going to hell around us.
"We don’t have any grand ambitions beyond that — we just want people to feel acknowledged. There’s comfort in knowing we’re on the same sinking ship. We want the album to be a knowing nod and a way to make the world a slightly more bearable, even if it’s just for 40 minutes."
Tickets are for collection from our shop on the day of the in-store, please bring your order number with you. Albums will be posted unless you select 'Collect In Shop' when checking out.

Ahead of their show at Pryzm, Spanish Love Songs visit Banquet Records to play an in-store set in celebration of the new album 'No Joy'.The highly anticipated new album from Spanish love Songs, following on from their excellent 2020 album 'Brave Faces Everyone'. Heartfelt and punchy emo-indie-rock at its finest. Fans of The Menzingers, The Hotelier, Tigers Jaw or Modern Baseball should be checking this out.Brimming with new wave pastiche, fluttering synths, shimmering walls of chorus guitar, and four-on-the-floor rhythms, ‘No Joy’ isn’t an exclamation point follow-up to the emotional catharsis of the landmark ‘Brave Faces Everyone’ as much as it is an exhale – the sound of vocalist and guitarist Dylan Slocum, his wife and keyboardist Meredith Van Woert, guitarist Kyle McAulay, bassist Trevor Dietrich, and drummer Ruben Duarte finding peace in quieter moments and embracing the negative space.-In-store Grade BPriority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of 'No Joy' from us. We've been big fans of Hot Mulligan for years, and finally we can put on their Kingston debut. The record was Produced by longtime collaborator Brett Romnes, ‘Why Would I Watch’ is Hot Mulligan at their loudest, their poppiest, and, ultimately, their most poignant: twinkly Midwestern emo guitars and mathy, synthy-heavy rhythms, Tades Sanville’s sandpaper vocals and indelible melodies. This lightning-in-a-bottle kinetic energy is encompassed on the aforementioned first single and in true Hot Mulligan fashion, a closer listen to the lyrics reveal an intense honesty that could get written off if you don’t pay attention. - 'Why Would I Watch' is out 12th May.-Times TBC but we expect doors at 7:30pm.-Hot Mulligan LP combo is the Banquet exclusive 'cloudy clear' colourway of 'Why Would I Watch'-Those aged 14+ can attend unaccompanied. 8 to 13 year olds must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult (18+).
