Nocturnal Sunshine Nocturnal Sunshine Debut album from Maya Jane Coles' dark brooding dub/bass alter ego Nocturnal Sunshine Maya is plumbing new artistic depths—Nocturnal Sunshine exemplifying a deep commitment to her own expansive vision. From featuring her own vocals to being clad in artwork Maya created herself, Nocturnal Sunshine is something more of a cohesive artistic project than simply a record; it seems only too appropriate that the completely self-produced album be released on Maya’s own label, I/AM/ME. Maya Jane Coles Not Listening (DJ Kicks) If we have stock left it will be available online from Saturday 28th April, strictly one per customer Two tracks produced by Maya exclusively for her DJ Kicks available on very limited picture disc vinyl. Coles’s own ‘Not Listening’, a driving cut built on a pounding yet melodic groove and ‘Meant To Be’, this time in her Nocturnal Sunshine guise. “The Nocturnal Sunshine track is something I started about three years ago,” she continues. “I never managed to finish it. I kept going back to it, but it was never quite right. I came back to it again, totally stripped it back and redid it and it came out really well. It’s not normally something I would do. Normally, if I can’t finish something I scrap it. The tracks I’m happiest with are normally the ones that come naturally and quite instantly. When I spend too much time working on something it can lose that specialness. 12" Out of Stock
