Posse EP Volume 2
Following on from the recently released limited edition “Nice Town” 12”, celebrating the legendary Metronomy’s signing to Ninja Tune, the band bring the second chapter in their Posse EP series out on Friday 12th July. The Posse EP series, where Metronomy invite a hand-picked selection of rising talent to collaborate, Posse EP Volume 2 expands on the series, including the previously released “Nice Town”, a collaboration with Pan Amsterdam.The first Posse EP came out in 2021, and featured the likes of Biig Piig, Spill Tab, Sorry, Brian Nasty and Folly Group. The lead single from the EP, “405”, has since become one of Metronomy’s biggest tracks with more than 15M streams on Spotify alone.Volume 2 sees Joseph Mount continue to flaunt his tastemaker talents, showcasing the likes of Nourished by Time, Lynks, Miki, Master Peace, Faux Real, TaliaBle, SPIDER, as well as Naima Bock and Joshua Idehen, who join him on new single “With Balance”, which will be released alongside the EP’s announcement.

Limited LP is on 'crystal clear' coloured vinyl. |We're getting some of the 12 x 12 4-page comics based on the 'It's good to be back" video while stocks last, included free with the 'crystal clear' coloured LP. Now on album number seven, Metronomy has continued where many of their 2000s ‘cool’ band peers have dropped off along the way. Small World is a return to simple pleasures, nature, an embracing in part of more pared down, songwriterly sonics (some moments wouldn’t sound amiss on a Wilco release), all while asking broader existential questions: which feels at least somewhat rooted in the period of time during which it was made – 2020. For all that Mount seems to think he has made a comparatively sombre record, much of Small World still pulses with the zesty, tongue-in-cheek joie de vivre you’d expect of a Metronomy record. So sure, things are different now Joe Mount is getting older and what’s on his mind is changing, but that doesn’t mark a change in quality for Metronomy. An immaculate set of tracks, Joe Mount’s ability as a songwriter and arranger shines through on Small World, evergreen. Metronomy might be growing up, but they’re not afraid to still have fun with it all. Through the tumultuous ebb and flow of the years, Metronomy continues to endure and make great pop music – and, really, that’s all that we could ask for.

The English Riviera (10th Anniversary)
The tenth anniversary edition of this classic from Metronoomy! double LP pressed on 180g black vinyl, includes 6 previously unreleased tracks and an etching on the D-side.
Of the anniversary, Joe says “My first apartment in Paris had an almost comically perfect view of Montmartre and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. In the shadow of the Sacré Coeur, with Barbès and the hill of Montmartre as a backdrop, I sat idly one day and wrote what would become one of Metronomy’s most popular songs.
I was tinkering around with one of Marion’s keyboards and after a short while came up with the bit that gets stuck in your head; the der-de-der-der bit. I played around with it a little, hit a wall and thought ‘it’s not really Metronomy, is it’.
Four months later, we finished recording The Look at the Smokehouse in London. We quite liked it, but that was about it. Then I distinctly remember the journalist Dave Simpson asking me about the song after we performed it for the first time at the Leeds Cockpit in January 2011. That was probably the moment I realised it had something about it.
I still don’t know precisely what that something is, but when we perform The Look live and I hear thousands of people chanting the bit that gets stuck in your head back at me, der-de-der-der, it often brings a tear to my eye. It really is amazing what that seaside song and this whole album has done for Metronomy.”

Metronomy Forever Remixes [RSD20]
This is an exclusive release for Record Store Day 2020 - Drop 1. Available online from 6:00pm on Saturday 29th August, strictly one per customer. Best remixes from the current Metronomy Forever campaign onto a 12” including Idles take on Wedding Bells, the Bristol band’s first official remix created for another artist. Dubbed the ‘Til Dev Do Us Party Remix’, Idles' reinvention of ‘Wedding Bells’ came from the long-running mutual respect that Metronomy and IDLES share. The original’s driving bass is pushed to a pulsating new peak, while the distortion layered on Joe Mount’s vocals increase the track’s tension. The result is manic, energising and surprisingly uplifting. Next up is Michael Mayer’s What IZ Love remix of ‘Insecurity’ where we see the co-owner of the Kompakt label reinvent the original track as a sprawling 8-minute techno exploration. Then we have interdisciplinary audio-visual artist Anna Lann who applies some audacious experimentation to her remix of Salted Caramel Ice Cream. Mount’s topline is twisted beyond all recognition and layered with skittering beats and foreboding vibes, making for a waking nightmare. Hotly-tipped Domino artist, Georgia, who looks set to make a major breakthrough in 2020 delivers her playful mix of Wedding Bells, heightening the track’s innate sense of fun, going big in every way - imposing synths undercut by seismic bass and hyperactive percussion. Finally we have Gerd and Shans mix of ‘Lately’, bringing a ‘90s flavour to the track, with old school house stabs reframing Metronomy as big room floor-fillers.
