The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold As Love LP reissue of Jimi Hendrix's follow up to Are You Experienced? and released only a few months later! Where his live shows continued to showcase the raw rocking power of the Experience, the recording studio gave Hendrix the composer/arranger a broader palette. There are still plenty of powerful blues/rock-inflected songs, such as the menacing "If 6 Was 9", the rolling "Spanish Castle Magic" and the spatial title tune. But "Up From The Skies" is a jazzy trio romp, featuring Hendrix's bluesy, vocalised wah-wah pedal. And on the ballads "Little Wing"and "Castles Made Of Sand", Hendrix shifts the focus from the band to the silvery chord/melody accompaniments he often employed to complement his vocals. They are an orchestral effect unto themselves. Sony CD | LP

The Jimi Hendrix Experience Live In Europe These four beautifully recorded tracks were all broadcast in for German and Swedish tv and viewers were treated to some of Hendrix’s most beloved songs of all time. The first incarnation of the experience was at the top of their game in mid ’67. For anyone who can understand German, there’s a hilarious German-language preamble as the MC introduces The Jimi Hendrix Experience as “music for the future with donovan-like flowery lyrics and free-form performance... with the full recommendation of Frank Sinatra”. 1960's Records 7"

Jimi Hendrix Suey / I Need You Ever Day Before Jimi Hendrix became an international phenomenon, he struggled to earn a living as an itinerant sideman for many rhythm & blues acts. Hendrix can be heard on recordings by Little Richard, the Isley Brothers, Don Covay and many others. This single presents one of his most unusual sessions as an unheralded sideman while the other was only recently discovered and never before released. Hendrix recorded both tracks in 1966 during separate sessions as a session musician for Ed Chalpin & PPX Enterprises, Inc. “Suey” was originally the flip side of “As The Clouds Drift By,” a single by the voluptuous B-movie actress Jayne Mansfield. Licensed to several European labels just weeks after Mansfield died in an automobile accident on June 29, 1967, Mansfield US recording rights were held by a different label so this recording has never before been issued in the US. Ricky Mason was a young vocalist championed by Chalpin, and “I Need You Every Day” is a pleasant surprise. This previously unreleased, uptempo shouter also features Hendrix on guitar. SUNDAZED 7"
