Due to the extreme demand, an extra show has been added.
To celebrate the release of his ninth solo album titled FTHC, the legendary folk-punker Frank Turner returns to Kingston to play at Pryzm.
FTHC is the ninth solo album from British punk and folk artist Frank Turner. Initially striking out as a vocalist in the punk rock band Million Dead, Turner then turned his focus towards a folkier, acoustic-based solo career. Since that time, he has reached international acclaim as a chart-topping, award-winning singer-songwriter. Taking inspiration from early '80s US hardcore band logos, FTHC stands for Frank Turner Hardcore.

The Homeless Gospel Choir / Frank Turner
Thursday 10th May
at New Slang, 9:00pm
In the week his new album is released, Frank Turner returns to Kingston.
To celebrate the release of his highly anticipated seventh studio album Be More Kind, Frank is coming back to New Slang for a release show that'll also mark his 21st Banquet show. A folk/punk-rock legend in his own right with a huge range of anthemic songwriting at his disposal, his live shows are never one to miss.
“Somewhere in the record, there’s a convergence of the ideas of personal and political, which is a central theme of the album,” Turner says. One of the driving themes of the album is empathy, even for your enemy. “You should at least be able to inhabit the mental universe of the people you disagree with. If you can’t do that, then how do you communicate with people other than through force of arms, which is something we all agree is a bad idea.” Behind some of the best songs of Turner’s career is the idea that the human race needs to find better ways of disagreeing than screaming each other down.
After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear the likes of Catfish & The Bottlemen, Jamie T, RAT BOY, Foals, Wolf Alice and many more until 2AM.

Just before the release of Songbook, Frank takes to Kingston stage to celebrate the release, and you can pick up an album and a ticket right here.
"I’m very excited to share with you all the news of my forthcoming retrospective album ‘Songbook’. I wanted to release a document of what I've done so far, including my favourite recorded songs, 10 new alternative versions of older songs, and one new track. It's a moment of reflection and celebration of my work as a songwriter to date."
