FOALS Thursday 27th June at New Slang, 9:00pm To combat touts, customers will be required to give their name when purchasing tickets and will be required to produce photo ID matching that name for entry to the gig. Tickets are not transferable. The name of the lead booker will be on all tickets. Where more than one ticket has been purchased, all guests in the party must enter the venue together. To gain entry to the show, the lead booker must bring the tickets along with valid photo ID matching the name on the tickets. New Slang is an over 18s event and is strict on ID. Please bring photo ID with you on the night, whatever age you are. Celebrating the release of their new album, FOALS return to New Slang, only this time to play their new album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1 in it's entirety. The band play an absolutely thrilling and genre-bending fusion of indie-rock-dance-punk and put on an incredible live show that's not to be missed. We're super happy to see them return to Kingston in this exciting time. Fundamentally tethered but possessing their own personalities, the two bodies capture the most compelling, ambitious and cohesive creations they’ve ever produced. Eager to break the traditional pop song structure which they felt they were becoming increasingly tapered to, the 20 tracks defy expectation. There are exploratory, progressive-tinged tracks alongside atmospheric segues which make the music an experience rather than a mere collection of songs. Yet the band’s renowned ability to wield relentless grooves with striking power and skyscraper hooks also reaches new heights. 9:30PM - DOORS 10:30PM - FOALS After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear songs from the likes of The Vaccines, The Cribs, Wolf Alice, Circa Waves, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Everything Everything, The Maccabees, Sundara Karma and many more until 2AM. CD/ticket is £15 post-paid, and other formats and combos will be available. New Slang is an over 18s event, and is strict on ID. Please bring photo ID with you on the night, whatever age you are. New Slang is held at Pryzm, 154 Clarence St, Kingston upon Thames KT1 1QP Albums and tickets will be dispatched separately, with tickets arriving closer to the date of the show CD | LP Past Event
FOALS Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 1 LP is on 180g black vinyl. there's a hanful of LPs signed by Yannis (not the whole band) The hugely anticipated new album from one of our favourite bands, Foals. Following on from 2015's What Went Down, the incredible indie-dance rockers will release two albums this year, with Part 2 following later in the year. “They’re two halves of the same locket,” frontman Yannis Philippakis explains. “They can be listened to and appreciated individually, but fundamentally, they are companion pieces.” Fundamentally tethered but possessing their own personalities, the two bodies capture the most compelling, ambitious and cohesive creations they’ve ever produced. Eager to break the traditional pop song structure which they felt they were becoming increasingly tapered to, the 20 tracks defy expectation. There are exploratory, progressive-tinged tracks alongside atmospheric segues which make the music an experience rather than a mere collection of songs. FOALS What Went Down We've also got a couple of posters left that are free with the album, you just have to pay a little extra for postage. Fourth album from Foals, one of our all-time favourite bands. They're a band very much in a league of their own with a sound quite unique to them. 2013's Holy Fire was a big album from them and What Went Down is surely set to be at the top of albums of the year lists! the record touches upon the dark depths of madness whilst also exhibiting some of the most beautiful pop songs the band have ever written. Lyrically, Philippakis deals with themes around cultural identity, generational anxiety, cynicism and pessimism; "I wanted to tap into my inner madman and feel like I was channeling some sort of fevered creature". Famously provocative, Philippakis is in equal parts destructive, obsessive, intelligent, ambitious, quick-witted with a razor sharp tongue. Transgressive CD | LP Back in Stock!

FOALS Tapes Expected 2nd July New Slang and shop favourites Foals curate a Tapes compilation for !K7, Foals has linked up with crossover acts like The Field and Mount Kimbie for remix collaborations over the past few years, and Foals Tapes, the group's first official mix, reveals a similarly keen eye for the more experimental corners of club music. The mix will be released on CD, but its tracks are divided in half like on a cassette: one side is more song-oriented, the other is a bit more dance-y. Side A features selections from Nicolas Jaar, Clark and John Talabot, among others, while Congreave (who is also the main DJ in the band) uses Side B to work in tunes from Arnold Jarvis, Oni Ayhun, Jimmy Edgar and Midland.
