Disclosure DJ-Kicks Disclosure Indies exclusive LP is on 'green' coloured vinyl. For a duo whose youthful energy rejuvenated the world of house music at the start of the 2010s, it seems incredible that Disclosure are now into their second decade of musical life. The incredible vigour of those early records, the spark of invention and ever-onward musical thrust, remains with the Disclosure brothers, Howard and Guy Lawrence, to this day. The emphasis throughout DJ-Kicks is on motion. After a brief ambient introduction from Pépe’s Life Signs, Disclosure keeps the energy high, in a mix that showcases the wonderful malleability of a house beat in the right hands. From sub bass to disco samples to 303 tweak, all is welcome in Disclosure’s house, with the mix allowing individual songs space to breathe even as the pace remains harefooted. !K7 Records CD | LP
Disclosure Energy [RSD21] This is an exclusive release for Record Store Day 2021 - Drop 1. Available from Saturday 12th June over the counter (if we're open), with online sales from 6:00pm on the same day. Click notify me above to be kept up to date. Disclosure returned last February with the brand new ‘Ecstasy’ EP where they rolled out a track a day over five days in the same vein to their last release, the ‘Moonlight’ EP (2018). Only this time, the ‘Ecstasy’ EP was in fact, a precursor to their third album ‘ENERGY’ – released in August on Island Records. ENERGY secured the bands third Top 5 album and third album grammy nomination along with a further nomination for the single 'My High' ft. Aminé & slowthai ENERGY pits a raucous rhythm from an album of Brazilian library music against a sample of Eric Thomas, the same hip hop preacher whose words memorably appeared on 2013’s When a Fire Starts to Burn. A global spectrum of talented artists grace the record – and for the first time this includes rappers. Appearances from Mick Jenkins, Channel Tres, Aminé and slowthai sit comfortably alongside the legend that is Common. Other features include the inimitable Kelis who opens the album and Fatoumata Diawara who the boys have also linked up with previously. Cameroon’s Blick Bassy brings his own flow to the table while a powerhouse team of Kehlani & Syd ease the pace with their contribution. Limited edition 2 x picture discs housed in a transpared 2LP PVC gatefold with SOV card & sticker . 165g. Island 12" RSD 2021

A few months ago, we stumbled across an amazing female vocalist named Fatoumata Diawara. While digging through her discography we discovered this beautiful sample and started messing around, having fun and experimenting with it. The result is our new song, ‘Ultimatum’.“ island 12"
Disclosure Energy We've got some signed 12" x 12" lithographs of the album artwork to give away with the indies LP. The highly anticipated new full length album from the acclaimed duo Disclosure. Following up from the Moonlight and Ecstasy EPs. “The thing that decided which songs made it and which songs didn’t was that one word: energy. Every track was written really quickly. That’s why we had to write so many songs because those ones don’t come up every day. Or every week. Or every month.” Through an epic process of creation and distillation the path to producing their shortest, most direct album - 11 songs, 39 minutes - ran through around 200 tracks: everything from drum loops to fully realised songs. Disclosure Ecstasy A new 12" from the ever on form Lawrence brothers, aka Disclosure, who visited Kingston for a release show not so long ago! These guys are bonafide modern house-legends, here they present 5 new tracks that follow on from the singles Moonlight and Ultimatum. Pressed on 180g 'blue' coloured vinyl. The EP's title track ‘Ecstasy' kicked off the week when the brothers played it during a live mix on the band's YouTube channel from Guys kitchen. On the track they said "This song came into existence early 2019 during a writing session at Guy's house in London. We were curiously chopping up samples from various 70s disco and soul records when suddenly, Fantasy by Aquarium Dream gave us the exact thing we were searching for. This song is made entirely to get a human being to their feet and directly to the dance floor." Next up was ‘Tondo' – which received a BBC Radio 1 play from Annie Mac on Tuesday night: "Over the past few years, we have been exploring more and more African genres of music. This specific track samples the great Cameroonian musician Eko Roosevelt. If this track is anything, it's fast, punchy & above all... fun." The brothers took to YouTube to premiere the third track ‘Expressing What Matters' on Wednesday night which saw fans tuning in to chat to Guy & Howard and hear the latest release. "This track samples the legendary song Lowdown by Boz Scaggs. We really wanted to try and focus in on those wonderful backing vocals that permeate through the original & give it such soul. They ended up becoming the focal point of the entire track... being chopped and skewed to their limit. The whole thing was one big audio science experiment for us." Zane Lowe premiered yesterday's track ‘Etran' on his Beats 1 show – which once again, explores further African flavours. "The bulk of the song samples Niger-based band Etran Finatawa. With this track we are exploring an idea... How far can we take a sound that is somewhere in the realm of house music, until it morphs into a whole new being? Colliding genres together in a mash of pulsating, repeating rhythms and tones... this is the furthest we have ever taken that idea." Following the Zane play of Etran, Disclosure later confirmed that a fifth and final track ‘Get Close' would be available at midnight GMT completing the five track ‘Ecstasy' EP. On this final offering of the week, Disclosure said "Years ago we wrote a song called Get Close that never saw the light of day. We aren't usually ones to go back to an old idea after so long, but we never got that hook out of our heads." 12"

Disclosure White Noise (Hudson Mohawke Remix) now in on one sided green 12" Originally scheduled for release on Record Store Day 2013, but unfortunately the wrong track was pressed onto vinyl. Fear not though, the good people at PMR have decided to press the right version onto green wax, and what a version this is from Glaswegian electronic beat master Hudson Mohawk aka HudMo. A raw gritty drum machine assault of a track but still managing to retain all the elements that make it a great 'song' too. PMR Records 12"
