Caribou Up In Flames [vinyl] Reissue of the second album by Dan Snaith, originally released as Manitoba We originally said this The next step in Manitoba's continual development! This time he's opted for live instrumentation and subdued vocals over skillfully edited and manipulated breakbeats, an entirely lush and uplifting listening experience that bears resemblance to Four Tet/Fridge kind of stuff and has even been compared to early Mercury Rev and Beach Boys too. Beautitful sun-drenched pleasure that's guaranteed to make you happy! Watch out for his material under the name Caribou as well - he had to change it on account of some legal beef of some sort... Caribou The Milk Of Human Kindness Non Record Store Day repress of The Milk Of Human Kindness on black vinyl + CD. Dan Snaith's first album under his Caribou guise after a lawsuit made him change his artist name from Manitoba because a New York punk band got there first. The first thing you notice about The Milk of Human Kindness is the emotional depth and range. The bear masks are off, the naked passions are running free. Like a lost album that’s just been rediscovered in a basement for the first time since 1973, it’s part reflective, campfire-comedown, part rampage of sonic discovery, reveling in energy and motion. Caribou / Daphni Mars - Head High remixes Two remixes of Caribou's Mars by Head High aka Shed aka WK7 aka WAX! The afro-inflected house cut was a highlight of the recent "Our Love" LP, and things only get better when Germany's hardest hitting producer gets involved. On the A-side, Head High's "Core" mix sticks fairly close to the original, but adds plenty of extra oomph for the mainroom crowd. The polyrhythmic beat is chopped up and reassembled into a frenzied afro breakbeat, while that exotic flute melody, pushed to the fore in the original, is filtered, reversed and burried in the middle of the percussion madness, making for an organic techno trip that's second to none. Flip the disc and prepare to get lost in the hypnotic beauty of Head High's "Venus" mix, an immersive incantation of skipping garage influenced beats, 90s rave stabs and ethereal pads. The infectious rhythm's certain to take care of your tapping toes, while those rave stabs, blasts of flute and psychedelic pads set your head spinning. Jiaolong 12"

Caribou Suddenly Something to look forward to in 2020 already! New Caribou album incoming, Dan Snaith's first album in what will be six years. Have a listen to the first taste, 'You & I', below. In 2014 Dan Snaith aka Caribou released Our Love to overwhelming critical acclaim and massive fan support. Now Caribou returns with his seventh studio album Suddenly, an album about family and the changes we go though as those relationships evolve. Suddenly is the most surprising and unpredictable Caribou album to date. Though it retains the trademark Caribou warmth and technicolour, this album is littered with swerves and left turns, and amazes with it’s yet unheard nuances, samples and hooks. As Snaith puts it, “these albums are like photo albums for me – when I look back at the old ones, they’re a snapshot of my life at that time, full of people who are close to you”. This is the drive to continue to make Caribou albums. Full bodies of work where Snaith is able to evaluate things, look at those around him and celebrate them. As his passion and joy in music making remains as fresh as ever, Suddenly is the purest example of this yet. City Slang CD | LP
