Beans On Toast A Spanner In The Works It wouldn't be the first of December without a new Beans On Toast album as the tradition now goes. He never fails to deliver acoustic, politically inspired folk-punk and doesn't fail here on his eighth album. With his unfaltering DIY ethic still at the forefront of its making, ‘A Spanner In The Works’ sees Beans embracing technology to create a record simply made on a laptop, around a mate’s house. While the new recordings still have Beans’ trademark three chord folk songs at their heart, this time around each track is layered in myriad beats, loops, synths and samples, spanning an array of genres and styles, that make for an album by Beans unlike any you’ve heard before. Recorded over a single weekend with old friend and long time collaborator Scampi Dan, the album is a fresh and different, but very much a welcome addition to the Beans On Toast catalogue. Beans On Toast Rolling up the Hill As the yearly tradition goes, Beans On Toast releases his new and 7th album on his birthday! It was recorded in Kansas with husband and wife country duo Truckstop Honeymoon. We're big fans of B.O.T., he always puts a smile on our face either with any of his releases or when he plays in Kingston. His acoustic witty-folk-punk songs are going to sound great on this album! The duo brings together double bass, mandolin and finger picking sounds to Beans on Toast unique art of songwriting. Of course though, they were still joined by long-term partner in crime Bobby Banjo, on harp and banjo. Throw in a couple of Kansas players dropping in some horns and some drums and you’ve got a Beans on Toast album that is fresh, fun and exciting whilst at the same time not losing any of Beans on Toast’s original cheap and easy English attitude that has got him to where he is today. Beans On Toast Drunk Folk Stories A book from one of Banquet's favourite songwriters Beans On Toast. I’ve written a book! Drunk Folk Stories is a collection of ten, short, true-life stories about songwriting, travelling and drinking. Featuring the likes of Billy Bragg, Banksy and The Cookie Monster. From Glastonbury to Wembley via The Bahamas, these are my first-hand accounts of drunken escapades, car crashes, recreational drugs and burning pubs. I’m very proud of it.
Beans On Toast Cushty That time of the year again! Never failing to deliver his excellent, humorous lyrics and wit through delightful folk-influenced songwriting. Beans On Toast is back again with his ninth full length album. If you're into the likes of Frank Turner, Will Varley or Chris T-T then you need to check out Beans. An optimist. Pacifist. People's champ. Loveable scamp. Raconteur. And drunk folk-star. Nearly a decade in the game, Beans on Toast has established himself as many different things to many a listening audience. And as ‘Cushty' may suggest, Beans on Toast is as bristling with ideas and identity as he's ever been. Xtra Mile CD

Beans On Toast Standing On A Chair [vinyl] One of Banquet's favourite singer-songwriters, Beans On Toast re-releases his debut album Standing On A Chair on vinyl for the first time. Nine years after it’s original release I’ll be putting my debut album out on vinyl for the first time. Double vinyl nonetheless. Produced many moons ago by Mumford and Sons' Ben Lovett with cameos from the likes of Emmy The Great, Justin Young and Frank Turner. To be honest, I thought it was ten years when I put the plan together, but hey ho. LP Out of Stock

Beans On Toast Tuesday 3rd December at Banquet Records, 6:00pm A now-traditional Kingston visit from Beans on Toast, to celebrate the release of his new album The Inevitable Train Wreck. Taking on more of an old-school rock 'n' roll sound than his usual folk-punk songwriting, but still focusing his classic and witty lyrics on the bleak future of the human race. Taking inspiration from musical icons such as Chuck Berry and Otis Redding, as well as modern thinkers like Noah Yuval Harari and Greta Thunberg, the album is a collaborative project between Beans and Lewis & Kitty Durham from the much-loved family band, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis. Beans wrote the collection of songs and brought them to Lewis and Kitty, who then rewrote the music behind the lyrics and produced the record in their studio, “Durham Sound Studios”, changing the sound from acoustic folk to the wonderful piece of work we present to you today. “Life is ridiculous, it is hilarious, it can be dangerous and sometimes even tedious. But it’s resilient and it is beautiful and I believe in it. Long may it continue” In-store Grade B. Priority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of The Inevitable Train Wreck from us. Albums will be posted unless you select 'Collect In Shop' when checking out, tickets are for collection from the shop on the day of the in-store, please bring your order number with you. Beans On Toast Thursday 6th December at New Slang, 9:00pm It's that time of the year again! Celebrating the release of his tenth studio album, Beans On Toast plays at New Slang. Beans has played in Kingston plenty of times, usually in the shop each and every year for his albums, we're super delighted to see him return and this time to play at New Slang. A Bird In The Hand is another offering of his charming and humorous lyrics and wit, all performed through drunken-styled folk songwriting. 2018 was always going to be a big deal for Beans on Toast with this year seeing his 10th release. Suitably rising to the occasion, Beans went to Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons (who produced his first album ten years ago) and they hatched a plan... At the time, Mumford were camped out in Paul Epworth's legendary The Church Studios making their upcoming album 'Delta'. The studio has a rich recording history including Bob Dylan, Radiohead and Adele, and houses some of the finest microphones and recording equipment in the world. During days off, or between Mumford’s own sessions, Beans and Ben snuck into the studio and laid down 'A Bird in the Hand', Beans’ most accomplished album to date. TIMES TBC but we expect doors to be at 9:00pm. Support is coming from Tim-OT. After the show, it's New Slang as usual where you can expect to hear songs from the likes of Frank Turner, The Vaccines, Wolf Alice, The Cribs and many more until 2AM. New Slang is held at Pryzm, 154 Clarence St, Kingston upon Thames KT1 1QP Albums+Tickets are available from £12... more options available here. This show is 18+. VALID PHOTO ID is required for admission (passport, driving licence, PASS card). This applies to all ticket holders, not just the purchaser. Bringing ID means bringing it with you. A photo on your phone will not be accepted. If you choose Collect In-store as your delivery option your full order, including tickets, will need to be collected from our shop rather than from the venue. Banquet closes at 7pm on Thursdays.
