Alix Perez Nighthawks Hot on the heels of Monty's EP comes another barbed and bulging EP from 1985 bossman Alex Perez. Tapping into his darker, heavier machine funk tendencies, this is Alix in 3am drum & bass dance mode: "Lucky Charm" is a purring subby low-rider, "Blips" is straight back to 2009 with its angular two-step, sinewy sound design and badman bass and "Nighthawks" is a dark soul roller with subtle samplecraft and pranged out basses. "Missing Pieces" brings us back down to earth safe and sound with a much dreamier atmosphere wrapped lavishly around Perez's light-footed beats and Javeon's distinctive soulful tones. 1985 out of 10. 1985 Music 12"
Alix Perez Numbers EP Six months deep and already onto his third 1985 release, Perez takes us back to his roots with a sublime selection of subtle work-outs; "The Raven" persists with a rattling percussive riff and droning bassline, "Drifting" swishes and sways with a slinky two-step, yearning atmospheres and lingering keys while "Inside Your Love" is a pneumatic funk trip into two-step soul. Finally "Numbers" turns the lights down with purring, naked soul. Beautiful. 1985 Music 12"

Noisia / Alix Perez / Joe Seven / Stray Ease Forward Limited Finish copies from Nosia’s label Invisible. If you don’t know about Invisible, it’s a label Nosia are using to release some of their more experimental tracks, as well as showcasing other artists. On this release Nosia, Alix Perez, Stray and Joe Seven all feature. Noisia kick things off with “Ease Forward”, linking up with Melbourne-based Joe Seven for a brooding slice of ultra-deep funk. Shogun Audio golden boy Alix Perez comes next with the tight percussive roll of “Observer”, before joining forces with the Noisia triumvirate for the immense future-funk of “Underprint”. New talent Stray is left to finish things off, which he does in style on “Saturday”, demonstrating why he’s been turning all the right heads over the last 12 months with his abstract explorations of the DnB template. Alix Perez Phantonym EP Next up we have a new dnb EP from label head Alix Perez - the Phantonym EP. One can really hear the many years experience and influences that have helped shape this masterpiece. It is beautifully complete, and is undoubtedly some of his best work to date. This is jungle/drum&bass in its truest unfiltered form. This EP covers the whole spectrum from signature Perez soulful dnb (SWRV qand Vibrations), to gritty bubblers (Trinity), and finally the harder minimal percussive dnb he is renowned for (Phantonym). Mature, concise, and graceful dnb at its best. 1985 Music 12" Out of Stock
