Bellevue Days Friday 22nd November at Banquet Records, 6:00pm To celebrate the release of their debut album, Bellevue Days play in the shop on the day of its release. The debut full length record from the Croydon based alt-rockers is titled It Can't Possibly Go Wrong Ever, offering up an infectious mix of modern British rock with indie-punk sounds. If you're into the likes of Lower Than Atlantis, Mallory Knox, Deaf Havana or Biffy Clyro then you should definitely check this out. “It seems like the whole world is kinda falling apart in every direction you look, doesn’t it?” vocalist Alan Smith comments. “For me personally, I took a long look at the world around me and I just kinda realised how f*cked up it’s become. I usually try to steer away from politics in music; I ain’t no Bob Dylan (just yet). I find it hard not to put my personal experiences and feelings into songs—from depression, to family issues, to deaths - as that’s usually the only thing I can really go off, but on this record there are a few more stories which I imagine from other people’s points of view, which was an interesting and refreshing perspective.” In-store Grade C, come on down. Priority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of It Can't Possibly Go Wrong Ever from us. All albums + Tickets are for collection in the shop on the day of the event. CD | LP

Beans On Toast Tuesday 3rd December at Banquet Records, 6:00pm A now-traditional Kingston visit from Beans on Toast, to celebrate the release of his new album The Inevitable Train Wreck. Taking on more of an old-school rock 'n' roll sound than his usual folk-punk songwriting, but still focusing his classic and witty lyrics on the bleak future of the human race. Taking inspiration from musical icons such as Chuck Berry and Otis Redding, as well as modern thinkers like Noah Yuval Harari and Greta Thunberg, the album is a collaborative project between Beans and Lewis & Kitty Durham from the much-loved family band, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis. Beans wrote the collection of songs and brought them to Lewis and Kitty, who then rewrote the music behind the lyrics and produced the record in their studio, “Durham Sound Studios”, changing the sound from acoustic folk to the wonderful piece of work we present to you today. “Life is ridiculous, it is hilarious, it can be dangerous and sometimes even tedious. But it’s resilient and it is beautiful and I believe in it. Long may it continue” In-store Grade B. Priority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of The Inevitable Train Wreck from us. Albums will be posted unless you select 'Collect In Shop' when checking out, tickets are for collection from the shop on the day of the in-store, please bring your order number with you. CD | LP
Vinnie Caruana Sunday 15th December at Banquet Records, Midday With his new solo EP out now, Vinnie Caruana plays an acoustic set in the shop. You'll recognise Vinnie as the frontman of The Movielife and I Am The Avalanche and we're delighted to welcome him back to the shop in celebration of his new solo EP Aging Frontman. Not afraid to take himself too seriously with the title and cover artwork, the personal EP is his most accomplished and poignant solo release to date. Vinnie has this to share: “This is as personal as I’ve ever been with the listener. The people who listen to my music know me. I’ve personally met most of them at shows and we have a relationship. This is just another layer. I’m still looking for answers. We all are. We have to keep finding the beauty in life, no matter how hard life can sometimes make it for us. I want to keep being the best version of myself until I die.” This never-ending desire to find and hold on to beauty and peace of mind, despite the chaos and frequent ugliness of the world we all live in, is something that has always inspired Caruana to write and perform music, and to connect with his fans and this record is without a doubt the finest distillation of that ethos, and of Caruana’s formidable talent as a singer/songwriter. In-store Grade C. Priority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of Aging Frontman from us. All albums + Tickets are for collection in the shop on the day of the event. 12"
