Dr Rubberfunk Saturday 29th February at Banquet Records, 4:00pm Following the release of his new full length album titled My Life At 45, the awesome Dr Rubberfunk stops by the shop for a Saturday afternoon set. The new album brings together stunning vocals from John Turrell, Izo FitzRoy and Stephanie Whitelock, whilst the instrumental tracks, showcasing the talents of long-time collaborators Jim Oliver, Jonathan James and Ben Castle, make it clear just what a crack production outfit the Doctor has put together. Porridge Radio Wednesday 11th March at Banquet Records, 6:00pm Celebrating the release of their debut full length record titled Every Bad, the indie / post-punk fuelled quartet from Brighton, Porridge Radio visit Kingston to play in the shop. Every Bad is a personal and intimate record, one born of soul-searching down at the beach. But its reach can (and should) be much further than that. These are lyrics that can unite friend groups and create manifestos to pin to bedroom walls, and the music that backs it all is widescreen, bright, and ambitious enough to take Porridge Radio to rooms as big as they deserve to be in. If the recent London show is anything to go by, the messages of this band are ones that can provide real, tangible hope. Across Every Bad, and in the very fiber of Porridge Radio, is the kind of fire that makes you get up and try all over again tomorrow. In-store Grade C. Priority will be given to anyone who orders a copy of Every Bad from us. Albums will be posted unless you select 'Collect In Shop' when checking out, tickets are for collection from the shop on the day of the in-store, please bring your order number with you. CD | LP
