Sunday 1st September at Kingston Market Place
Kingston Carnival is one of the highlights of the borough calendar. Again for 2019, Banquet is sorting the music for the later part of the main stage until the close of carnival.
Processions kick off at midday and the music in the market place begins just after 1:00pm. A free entry, alcohol-free event in The Market Place celebrating cultural diversity and put together by Kingston Race & Equalities Council.
The main event on the main stage will be original jungle/reggae legend Congo Natty (Rebel MC). This is sure to be a huge event in the centre of the town and you don't want to miss it. We expect a stage time for Congo Natty about 5:30pm.
Closing the event Josh from The Skints, will present the soundtrack to a carnival party, and earlier in the day the drum ensemble of Tribo, London soukos band Kasai Masai, and cirKT acts of warm-you-up-inside Brother Zulu, and queer hip hop duo Graver Ekow, will also play.
The day is a great party. There's multiple stages around the town, food stalls, entertainment and positive vibes. This celebration of our community is open to anyone of any age and it's totally free.
There's a strict curfew of 7:00pm.
Kingston Carnival is a free, all-ages event, in Market Place, Kingston town centre.
