Let Luke from the band explain more...

Jonah Lomu
"This song is about the school bully and that feeling of however old you get, it seems they are always watching over you. Jonah Lomu seemed like a funny character to represent the bully in the song. I have zero interest or knowledge of rugby but he's just a such a character, almost cartoon-like in appearance. Musically it sits somewhere between The Replacements and Blur. It's pretty instant and fun like both those bands. In my head it's like watching an 80s episode of Grange Hill unfold."

Tony Hawk

"This song is pretty straight forward in its lyric. So many kids from privileged backgrounds automatically go to Uni without really giving a shit. It's all paid for by their parents so it's an autopilot and expected move. It's about a lack of respect for that opportunity and just getting stoned and playing Tony Hawk all day: "Maybe it's not wrong if he repeats year 1?" It's also about the naive parents who just think chucking money at the situation will fix it. Influences on this song are pretty obvious I guess, you can tell what bands we love from the first few chords."
