Singles come from Prince Fatty with an amazing 'Gold Digger' remake 7'', Mala 'Changes' James Blake remix plus a new James Blake 12'' on his new 1-800-Dinosaur label, Blawan with a new 12'' with Surgeon, Theo Parrish with a Tony Allen collabo, Tall Black Guy with another great 7'', Nice Up! with Mungo's Hifi & JStar on remix duties, Wbeeza, Huxley, MK, Duff Disco on a house tip, plus plenty more! Events wise it's all about Friday for us this week as our weekly D.A.N.C.E. night get's a relaunch, two rooms of music, all drinks under £2 all night and free entry 'till midnight, can't say fairer than that really! album gets a 10 year anniversary reissue!! Alex Nut & Sam
Shepherd aka Floating Points celebrate 4 years of their excellent Eglo
label with a double CD compilation.
Huxley has had many a release over the years on various high profile labels including Hypercolour and 20/20 vision!! Now he presents the soulful garage flavoured bass line heavy "Lost Love" E.P on Rinse! In addition Blawan's seminal "His, He, She & She" masterpiece on Hinge Finger gets a welcome repress. Dan White heads up the excellent new Deep House flavoured release on Shades and Leon Vynehall & Christian Piers team up as Laszlo Dancehall with some stompin' House/Techno on George Fitzgerald's Man Make Music label.
 Plenty of heat in the deep house section over the last week or so. Wbeeza brings us another full on looped up Moodymann-esque 12", Huxley drops a chunky house workout on Rinse, MK brings us four of his best loved 90's house remix weapons, Theo Parrish & Tony Allen team up for an afro soul 12" while Duff Disco and Lindstrom & Todd Terje bring us heavy slices of deep disco. Albums come from Hot Creations, with a triple CD comp, Diynamic star David August with a really superb deep album, (very much in the same vein a Nicholas Jaar), and Maceo Plex who's DJ kicks compilation showcases some of the influential tracks that have shape his production sound.
 New Nice Up! pressure, released for Record Store Day 2013, with Mungo's Hifi & JStar remixing Adam Prescott & Mr Benn tunes respectively, heavy jumped up sounds on this special 12" press. Check the Prince Fatty remix of Kanye West's hip hop smasher 'Gold Digger', a personal weapon from the Fatty vaults released as a white label 7". Also bit tip, the Cyantific Dub is a glorious slice of old school reggae infused d&b/jungle, on limited hand sprayed 10"! Taggy Matcher strikes again with the fifth volume of heavy reggae & rocksteady versions of hip hop & soul classics from yesteryear, tops! The Dirty Dubsters who's 12"s have been selling really well here the last couple of years drop a new drop a ten track album on vinyl of fresh party dancehall & reggae sounds. Ghostpoet releases his second album, again more deep, low slung hip hop, with that addictive lazy flow over bubbling, electronic soul based beats, real tidy! Talib Kweli drops a new solo album with an array of guest talent featuring (Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Busta Rhymes, Nelly...) Ex-Banqueteer Buddy Peace releases a new full length on Strange Famous, this time pairing up with US MC Prolyphic - highly recommended, as you'd expect with Buddy beats on there! Also check a couple of great 7"s that have just landed, the Brotherman pic disc 7" which is a remake of his classic 'Heart of Dem' track with a full nine piece hip hop / funk band and also the Tall Black Guy 7" who we just can't get enough of here, deep soulful hip hop based beats all the way!!
