![]() | Mystery Jets - Serotonin July has been a busy month in Banquet land with Thursday 15th probably being the busiest as Myster Jets came to town with a new album. The band played a packed instore and a sold out New Slang on a rather hot day in Kingston town and blew us all away again. JT has grabbed the album for his album of the month, a shop fave that's been on heavy rotation this month. Arguably JT's busiest day was actually Saturday 17th when he was on BBC 6Music Radio in the morning and then a Best Man at our Web Designers wedding in the afternoon! Jon of all trades. |

![]() | Digital Mystikz - Return II Space Mike goes for the pretty massive summer release from Mala aka Digital Mystikz. This has been a highly anticipated release and Mike was delighted it lived up to the hype, unlike his World Cup sweepstake teams who both crashed out early doors. |

![]() | Captain, We're Sinking - It's A Trap Dave goes for some straight up ace punk from Pennsylvania dudes Captain, We're Sinking. These are limited 7"s with some rather nice packaging (see below). Dave got back on the solo horse performing some classics from 'Kingston's Current'at Truck festival. If you missed it come down to King Blues at New Slang to see Dave supporting, it's his birthday at midnight! ![]() |

![]() | Dangermouse + Sparklehorse - Dark Night Of The Soul Jane has gone for the arty new collaboration from Dangermouse and Sparklehorse who brought legendary director David Lynch on board to add a visual element. The visual element of the Banquet office view has suffered this month with roadworks bang outside the shop. Luckily for Jane this has been balanced out by Ollie and Tom singing FUN songs for the last 12 Friday afternoons, what a treat. |

![]() | M.I.A. - /\/\ /\ Y /\ Milly has gone for the new album from M.I.A. which has split opinion in the shop. Some of us think it sounds like someone muttering blabbering nonsense while rolling down a hill in a bin and Adam said it gave him 'health problems'. However Milly has been loving it this month, experimental forward thinking stuff following 2007's award winning 'Kala'. Milly was seen celebrating wildly that the World Cup was over only to be brought crashing down with the news the new football season starts in a few weeks... |

![]() | Parkway Drive - Deep Blue Tom goes for the ferocious third album from Autralian Metalcore peeps Parkway Drive. Passionate, aggressive and in your face, this is everything the England teams World Cup performance wasn't. Check out one of the best music videos of the year below. Then check out the best football celebration you will ever see here. |

![]() | ASC - Nothing Is Certain Tronik has been all over ASC this month. The highly anticipated album (available on triple 12" and CD) is a bit of a genre defying masterpiece taking influences from all aspects of electronica to create something fresh and unique. The only thing to better July was the meat eaters of Banquet's (and there arent many of us!) trip to The Meatwagon. The best burger you will ever eat, I've never seen Tronik happier. |

![]() | Mount Kimbie - Crooks & Lovers A lot of strong dance albums out this month and Aaron snaps up another for his album of the month going for the debut from the diverse Mount Kimbie, crafty complex genre bending electronica you need in your life. Every time I've seen Aaron in July he has been wearing the same rather nice v neck T-shirt. If you're wondering it's kind of Forest Green. |

![]() | Tokyo Police Club - Champ Before Ollie worked here he used to be known as 'that Tokyo Police Club Kid' by the New Slang DJ's as he always used to request them. No surprises the fantastic new album takes his album of the month for July, Indie pop tastic. Ollie is on the lady hunt so if you are one of his many female Mailorder fans, take him on a date! |

![]() | Kitsune Vs Ponystep Salty has had a good July finishing his degree with a 2:1 (congratulate him). He celebrated by picking the uber cool new indie meets electro compilation from Kitsune who team up with East London Webmag Ponystep for this one! It wasn't all good news for Salty Magee mind, his hotly tipped Argentina sweepstake team got taught a lesson by Tronik's Germany in the World Cup Quarter Finals! |

![]() | Young Guns - All Our Kings Our Dead Ad goes for the stunning debut album from the hotly tipped Young Guns boys who played a brilliant album release show for us in July at The Hippodrome - the first 14+ gig we had done there (check out the Video below from the great dudes at Everything Sucks TV)! This has helped Baylis get over the dissapointment of Eric Djemba-Djemba failing to sign for his beloved West Brom. |

![]() | Bombay Bicycle Club - Flaws Harry has gone for the excellent acoustic album from Bombay Bicylce Club. A fave in the shop, the guitar line from 'Ivy & Gold' will stay in your head for eternity, just to warn you. Did you know Harry is the fastest cyclist at Banquet? He rode from Brighton to Kingston in July. Mental |
