Ministry Of Sound's new "Masterpiece" series brings us compilations by legends from the world of music that have a story to tell through their own influences and inspirations. A series like no other that really holds its compilers in serious high regard. For the latest offering the "Masterpiece" series welcomes Andrew Weatherall to the fold.
Andrew Weatherall's history goes back to the beginning of the UK acid house scene, having swung gigs for himself at Danny Rampling's legendary Shoom night off the back of the sort of eclectic sounds Andrew later showcased on his compilation for Nuphonic - "9 O'Clock Drop". Productions and remixes on the Boys Own record label, DJ gigs at a string of London club nights (Blood Sugar, Circulation and of course Sabresonic), plus his production on Primal Scream's "Screamadelica", have all cemented his legendary status on the alt-dance scene.
For this triple CD / triple LP compilation Weatherall's choices are as eclectic as ever, taking in a plethora of his own sought-after remixes, chugging acid house, old school Balearic gems, cosmic disco, techno and much more.
