New Major Lazer EP on 12" through Mad Decent
A new chapter in the Major Lazer Jamaican Vampire killing saga, "Lazers Never Die EP" contains two huge new tracks and an all star team of remixes. First up is the anthem "Sound Of Siren", where MIA provides the infectious hook while Busy Signal takes over MC duties on one of the most blogged tracks of the year. Next up is Bermudian native Collie Buddz and newcomer Lindi Ortega on "Good Enough", flipping the instrumental of Major Lazer’s album favourite "Cash Flow" into a deep reggae slow burner. For the remixes, Buraka Som Sistema put some electronic kick into the daggering sex anthem "Bruk Out". Legendary UK producer Kicks Like A Mule (aka XL Records head Richard Russell) chops and reworks "Can’t Stop Now" with the help of young New York rapper Ms Banks. Finally Thom Yorke (yes, that Thom Yorke) finishes the set off strong, recontexualizing "Jump Up" into a "Kid A"-meets-reggae space odyssey. One-time pressing.
