Best Of May 2011 - News & Featured ReleasesView Our Best Of May 2011 Chart

Its been another a-May-zing month for albums.  Such a range of quality across the shop.  This month we released the second album from Detroit pop-punks Fireworks, which will get in to many of our album of the year charts, no problems.  From a similar scene Title Fight also scored high amongst the punk's charts.  We've been lucky that some of our fave bands have come to play for us in support of some of these albums.  Twin Atlantic, Pete And The Pirates, Cloud Control and The Computers would have made the cut anyway, but their recent shows made us love them even more.  Quite a good representation from the hip hop world this month too, whilst Katie eyed the lovely new Communion Records compilation

So many great shows this month. We released the Iron Chic album in the UK and they are a band very dear to many of us so their first Kingston show was special.  Similarly special to us over the years has been Frank Turner and his two shows, including the sold out New Slang gig at the end of May  showed us once again how brilliant an artist he is!  Instores from so many, but Cloud Control and Twin Atlantic stand out  as highlights, and some great shows at the various punk venues of Kingston included a sell out Mayday Parade gig at The Peel and a first Kingston gig for US pop-punks This Time Next Year,
