Best Of April 2011 - News & Featured ReleasesView Our Best Of April 2011 Chart

Hard to believe all this fits into just one month.  April was full of great releases anyway.  Biggest for us was from The King Blues who JT picks and who JT had play for us on his birthday in mid April.  Some cross shop favourites from Metronomy and Jamie Woon and Max plucks We Are The Ocean who dropped by the store on the day of the album's release!  However, April wasnt a typical month as plum in the middle we had Record Store Day which saw our busiest ever day's trading with thousands of copies of hundreds of releases which came out specifcally for that day.  The video below captures the spirit of the day and is well worth five minutes of your time.

As mentioned above, Record Store Day was the defining 'event' for us in April.  But of course we're proud of the events we do throughout the year.  We had some great shows,  King Blues and David Rodigan was the busiest night The Hippodrome's had all year, and other shows we did ranged from Tangled Hair in store and No Friends at The FIghting Cocks, to Danny Byrd and Netsky at Repeater.
