New Omar S album containing some of our favourite 12”s from the last year or so plus some exclusive new material. CD release contains 12 tracks, giving the producer chance to show us the true depth of his style; while the double 12" release concentrates on seven tracks mastered for extended DJ use. Made and recording using purely analogue equipment the album takes us through his patented blend of rolling Detroit beats, melancholic atmospheres and deep sonic textures. His love of old synthesizers and drum machines is apparent from the offset but rather than be a tribute to styles of old, Omar inflicts his own unique influence on the machines, giving them a new life with a dark underbelly. Omar even gives us a typical 'sex-track' (always featured in house albums, remember "Entra Mi Casa" by Armand Van Helden?!) on "Look Hear Watch". There are acid jams aplenty - "Ganymede" and "Bobien Larkin"; cosmic techno is touched upon with "Supported Solely" and "You Wish" while tracks like "Over You Too" display his love of dubbed-out electronics and long, evolving arrangements. Not content, Omar even throws is a few euphoric anthem moments on "Here's Your Trance Now Dance"", "Nite's Over Compton" and "Skynet 2B". Flowing beautiful from start to finish, we can already see this being a firm favourite on the shop CD player over the autumn. Get this soundtracking your lives right now - you won't be disappointed.
