What a voice, what a lovely lass, what an album, wow.

South Londoner Jessie Ware is a fast rising star on the UK underground. The last couple of years have seen Jessie collaborating with some of the most respected producers on the electronic spectrum such as SBTRKT and Joker. We now finally have an album from her after a couple of teasing singles.

Customer ReviewsReview Jessie Ware - Devotion

5 Stars!Gerwyn Williams says:

Having read several great reviews from the BBC to the NME, I’ve discovered that actually many have missed the point regarding the unique attribute that makes this album truly remarkable. That it is, authenticity.

In an era where karaoke culture is the norm, it is expected that people will try to compare new singers to existing or past singers. But in this case, it’s almost impossible because of the incredible range and versatility of Jessie Ware’s fabulous vocals.

For me, the album ‘Devotion’ satisfies my very demanding musical pallet from classic 80’s RnB to funky electro, from ballads to dance music, from despair to euphoria. Over 30 years of soulful music styles rolled up into one album with Jessie’s voice the unique attribute that makes it truly authentic.

The music production & backing is sublime from the likes of Julio Bashmore, Dave Okumu & Sampha. There has also been incredible support from Red Bull Studios.

Finally, why is it that so many people speak so fondly of Jessie and why are they endeared by her personality? I believe it is because she does not strive to be at the front of the stage, she strives to sing & write songs. It was inevitable that destiny would place her in the spotlight, especially following collaborations with the likes of SBTRKT.

Anyone who cares about the British music scene will appreciate this excellent album.
